Michigan has no known laws or proposed legislation for doulas.
Past Efforts
In 2020, Senate Bill 965 was proposed to provide access to doula services before, during, and after childbirth for up to 60 days postpartum. The wording of the bill is very brief and is framed as permitting access to doula services while silent with regard to reimbursement or insurance/Medicaid coverage.
