Colorado enacted SB21-193 concerning the protection for pregnant people in perinatal period.

SB21-193 affects a broad range of services provided to pregnant people. Regarding doulas, the act requires any health facility providing labor and childbirth services to have a policy allowing “every birthing person to have a companion or doula with the person during birth in addition to a partner or spouse.”
